SANA QATAR
Immersive Sound Design & Music Composition
SANA QATAR is a large-scale media art exhibition developed with the support of the Qatar Ministry of Culture and presented on December 10, 2025, in celebration of Qatar’s National Day. Conceived as an immersive audiovisual experience, the exhibition explores Qatar’s contemporary cultural renaissance. The project takes its name from Sana, meaning “radiant light,” symbolizing renewal, identity, and cultural continuity.
As part of this collaboration between Indissoluble.com and the Qatar Ministry of Culture, Irradian Sound was commissioned to create the original music composition and sound design for two immersive installations specifically designed for the event.
Music & Sound Design for an Immersive Audiovisual Environment
Our work focused on delivering bespoke music and sound design tailored to the scale and conceptual ambition of the installations. Designed by Indissoluble.com and visually developed by Tigrelab.com, the project demanded a sonic identity capable of enhancing spatial perception, guiding the narrative, and fully integrating sound within the audiovisual environment.
Handcrafted Sonic Identity Rooted in Qatari Tradition
To meet the Qatar Ministry of Culture’s strict stylistic and cultural requirements, Irradian Sound developed a handcrafted sonic identity deeply rooted in Qatari musical tradition. The creative process involved extensive research into regional scales, modes, rhythms, and traditional instrumentation, ensuring cultural authenticity while maintaining a contemporary and immersive sound language.
Sound Design as Narrative and Space
The sound design leads the audience on a sensory journey, from the depths of the Indian Ocean to the vast, arid dunes of Khor Al Adaid. Every sonic element was carefully composed and spatially designed to complement the visual storytelling, enhance emotional impact, and create a fully immersive experience.
SANA QATAR stands as an example of Irradian Sound’s approach to music and sound design for audiovisual and immersive environments, where concept-driven thinking, cultural research, and technical finesse converge to create meaningful sonic experiences.
