Bespoke Music, Sound Design & Mix for Store Opening Mapping (Madrid)
Adidas commissioned Irradian Sound to compose the bespoke music, sound design, and final mix for the launch show celebrating the opening of the brand’s new store in Madrid. Conceived as a large-scale projection mapping on an emblematic building in the city, the piece required a powerful audiovisual impact, where sound would play a central role in shaping rhythm, scale, and audience immersion. The project was commissioned by Viscuit.es with postproduction by NEXcommunity.
Sound Design Integrated Within the Musical Composition
A key aspect of the project was the integration of sound design directly into the musical composition. Rather than treating sound effects as an added layer, music and sound were developed simultaneously as a unified sonic system — allowing visual transitions, architectural motion, and graphic intensity to be translated into precise sonic gestures.
A Bespoke Sonic Palette, Created from Scratch
All musical and sound elements were created from the ground up, without using sound libraries. Through original composition, digital sound design, and carefully crafted textures, we designed a bespoke sonic palette tailored to the identity of the event and the visual language of the mapping. The result is a cohesive sonic identity that enhances spatial perception and amplifies the impact of the architectural projection.
Audio Postproduction and Final Mix for Large-Scale Presentation
The final mix focused on clarity, depth, and spatial coherence, ensuring the show translated effectively across the event’s large-scale playback system. The outcome is a seamless audiovisual experience designed to feel immersive, intentional, and aligned with adidas’ contemporary brand presence.
